Tameside Council built a fibre ring using a new and unique model: cooperative asset sharing. This allowed other public sector bodies to contribute, including the Government's Local Full Fibre Networks (LFFN) programme. Now there's a 50km fibre infrastructure being shared with private sector businesses, who are using it to create new, ultra-fast digital services.
Come and hear how Tameside did it, how the Government has helped accelerate the programme; how private telecoms and Internet businesses are now working together to make Tameside one of the best connected boroughs in the UK; and how the model can be replicated elsewhere.
