Close & Networking |
Tameside Council built a fibre ring using a new and unique model: cooperative asset sharing. This allowed other public sector bodies to contribute, including the Government's Local Full Fibre Networks (LFFN) programme. Now there's a 50km fibre infrastructure being shared with private sector businesses, who are using it to create new, ultra-fast digital services.
Come and hear how Tameside did it, how the Government has helped accelerate the programme; how private telecoms and Internet businesses are now working together to make Tameside one of the best connected boroughs in the UK; and how the model can be replicated elsewhere.
Speakers including:
- Justin Leese, DCMS (Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport)
- Tim Rainey, Tameside Council
- Rob Leenderts, INCA
- TDIC and its members
Who should attend?
This event will be of interest to anyone who'd like to understand how we can accelerate fibre deployment collaboratively - there will be valuable information for local authorities and other public bodies interested in the model, how it works with the LFFN programme, and how it can be replicated. Plus there'll be valuable insight for network operators, builders and investors.
