Lancaster City Council

We’re committed to delivering a green, healthy, inclusive and prosperous ‘smart district’ for the future, and making the connections that will enable us to achieve these aims for the benefit of all the district’s residents and businesses.

We believe that this approach will require strong foundations of digital infrastructure, collaboration and the adoption of digital technology and practice.

Our Digital Strategy sets out our plans to support the council’s priorities across a number of different dimensions, including:

• Connectivity – providing first-class infrastructure such as Full Fibre and 5G to support a growing tech sector, promoting high value, green employment opportunities
• Collaboration – enabling stakeholders to come together in partnership to deliver enhancements in health, innovation, nature and knowledge and address issues of social exclusion
• Change – adopting digital methodologies across neighbourhood services, to enable better access to services and continue improving the council’s efficiency and agility in responding to the Climate Emergency and focusing on communities

This is a bold vision capable of making significant changes to the council, the district and to the wellbeing of all our citizens.
